This is something you don't see every day. This group of male Northern Water Snakes were doing their best to breed with this reluctant female Northern Water Snake. I've spent hundreds of hours in the outdoors at this time of year, and this is something that I had never witnessed before. The largest snake in this group was the female. Large female water snakes can give birth to several dozen live babies at a time. Even though I've been observing nature for a very long time, nature still surprises me sometimes. If you've ever witnessed this behavior in the wild, let us know about it in the comments.
