@Dragan3rd3 years ago The last story reminded me of Isidor and Ida Straus (co-owners of Macy's btw). Ida stepped out of her lifeboat, refusing to be separated from her husband. The crewman then offered Isidor a seat, since they were both an elderly couple, but he refused as well, saying that he would not go before the other men. They both passed away in the sinking as well.
Also about the Violet Jessop story, I wanted to add a couple of facts on to what you said. The Britannic was also the sister ship of Titanic, meaning that it had a near identical design, and was originally intended to be the largest and most luxurious of her class. The first ship in the class was the Olympic (hence the "Olympic Class", consisting of these three ships). Violet Jessop was aboard the Olympic during its collision with the HMS Hawk, then later she was aboard Titanic, and later still the Britannic; she was onboard for each of the ships' major disasters.
Also the Olympic Class were named after Greek gods, the Olympians and Titans (which makes its correlation to "Wreck of the Titan" all the more creepy). According to legend, the Britannic was originally supposed to be named the Gigantic (Giants) but the name was changed either after the Titanic disaster or in an effort to show national pride with the upcoming world war... if the legend is even true that is lol ... 3
