At the start of my journey ripping into External TCW material, we will start with Lightsaber Duels, a crappy fighting game, barely an improvement over the PlayStation 1 game Masters of Teras Kasi, and here, we will talk about perhaps the most bare-bones, lacking in quality Star Wars game I've played since that.
Game Description
Star Wars: The Clone Wars – Lightsaber Duels is a Wii fighting video game based on Star Wars: The Clone Wars, and is the second Star Wars fighting game released, following Star Wars: Masters of Teräs Käsi. The game was released on November 11, 2008 to coincide with the start of the series' first season. It features the same voice actors to reprise their roles from the show, such as Ashley Eckstein, Matt Lanter, James Arnold Taylor, Matthew Wood, Corey Burton, Nika Futterman, Tom Kane, Phil LaMarr, and Terrence Carson. A companion game, Star Wars: The Clone Wars – Jedi Alliance, was released on the Nintendo DS on the same day.

@ironinquisitor36566 months agoI have this game at home. Wish they could have made the combat feel more like the Revenge of the Sith's combat + Wii motion controls. The concept of that lightsaber dueling droid is kind of cool tho. 11

@potatobagellast monthThis game is surprisingly fun with friends, idk if you tried playing with other people, but just mashing sword swings against friends even with the janky controls is it's own special kind of fun

@jamessoto76526 months agoThe fact they could've easily make up it's own non canon story like other licenced cartoon tie in games rather follow the show prime example spongebob I kinda like way game looks if only was half decent

@jaxxpool96306 months agoThis was actually an early childhood game of mine and I ironically persisted on getting 100 percent on it back then. Obviously like SpongeBob: Atlantis Squarepantis and a lot games I played as a kid, it hasn’t aged well and better off as a dusty relic of an older generation. ...2

I have more fond memories of Republic Heroes than I have for this game and I only played that game for 6 months before I moved to play Lego Star Wars III which I found to be more enjoyable than both of TCW games. ...

@aitipsea39096 days agoI like some of the interactions specially with Grievous and whenever characters duel against themselves "I am the hero of two wars, jedi: first for my homeworld and now for the galaxy!"
@
@tk-69676 months ago Yeah the game devs actually knew their lore. For example, General Grievous' lines reference him being a warlord on Kalee and stuff. A waste of their time if you ask me. They should put people who know the lore in better positions alongside people who can make good stories. But sadly Lucas was tricked by Filoni into giving Filoni's crap a higher importance than the actual good stories of the EU. Even many Disney era writers have stories that are way more faithful to the EU (and in my eyes are essentially part of the EU because they are pretty good) than Filoni. Filoni fucked up Star Wars first, but Disney has given him even more power because the mainstream fans herald him as their god and think that anything he makes is great, so Disney doesn't have to put in any effort unlike with Andor, which, regardless on your opinions of the show, you have to admit they actually tried to make a story with characters and acting and not just cameo of the week. ...3

@yoyoyiggityyo166 months agoDarth Mickey had a shit show on GayBC called schooled. It takes place in 1999 you probably know where im going with this season 1 episode 9 (ironic) was entirely dedicated to shitting on the Phantom Menace. This came out exactly 10 months before Rip Off Soywalker was released. OMZ PLLLLLSSSSS do a video on this. Disney also did a Phineas and Ferb crossover with star wars. And marvel. Which is the best thing theyve ever done or could ever do with those franchises. Seriously P&F mission marvel has more heart emotion and effort than the entire MCU combined x100. Since im feeling nostalgic right now im also gonna mention that P&F did a multiverse movie with an episodic sequel and this is best use of multiverse ever. In rick and morty it just comes off as hypocritical since they just make fun of everything to deflect their laziness ...1
