1. Build a house
2. Mine it and build under it
3. Wire a contraption to enter and exit (optional)
4a. If you did then expand the house and make another contraption to protect it seeing that if a house under a house is easily griefable then you might need the minigun contraption or an obsidian wall

1. Use a shield. Or just block the dispensers with blocks
2. Use a sword and defend yourself. Or 3. W a l k f o r w a r d before the portal teleports you. Literally just get out of the way of the portal.
4. Climb up and in. Use blocks.
5. Sneaking makes this trap worthless.
6. Dig around it. Its probably also a bad idea to go into a 1 block tall tunnel randomly.
7. Simply tower up.
8. Wait till the owner of the base is online, if you know that theres a base there. Otherwise, dig around some. Or follow any trail that was left behind, as strip mines are like labyrinths and even the base owner needs a way to remember how to get back.
9. You can break berry bushes with your hand. Same with wither roses. Plus you can usually just sneak bridge over the lava.
10. Follow the base owner or just keep looking. Carry blocks, a water bucket and a pickaxe to keep yourself safe.
11. Break the door with your hand, or break the block under it. For sound, just turn the settings for block sounds to 0.
12. Carry a door with you. You can place it down to create an air pocket. Go to the base after you get back your air.
13. Use chorus fruit to teleport inside. ...Expand
